Betty Griffin Stockton

May 3, 1925-April 4, 2014 

Betty Griffin Stockton, 88, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014. She was born to the late Arthur and Jennie Griffin, in Birmingham, Alabama. Betty graduated from Emory University Hospital School of Nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Ralph Cameron Stockton. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Dara Stockton; and John and Anita Stockton; grandsons, Clint, Luke, Tim and Jon David Stockton; granddaughter, Stephanie Stockton; four great grandchildren; brother-in-law, James Hickman. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 3, 2:00 PM, at Columbia Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Tom Hagood officiating. A private inurnment will take place at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbia Presbyterian Church, 711 S. Columbia Dr, Decatur GA 30030. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

Claude E. Phillips

May 27, 1922 – April 18, 2014

Mr. Claude E. Phillips, 91, of Monroe died April 18, 2014. Mr. Phillips was a member of Columbia Presbyterian Church in Decatur. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mrs. Catherine Phillips of Monroe; sons Gary Phillips and wife Barbara of Peachtree City; Steve Phillips and wife Gladys of Loganville; Frank Phillips and wife Normaline of Lilburn; grandchildren Bart Phillips and wife Katy of Thomaston; Brit Phillips and wife Melissa of Kings Mountain, N.C.; Brad Phillips and wife Natalie of Monroe; Jon Phillips and wife Maria of Lincolnton, N.C.; Nikki Strayer and husband Steve of Atlanta; Andria Brewer and husband Rick of Winder; Tamara Viallion of Colorado; 16 great-grandchildren: Payne, Brynn, Trace, Brock, Brianna, Britney, Preston, Olivia, Mason, Annah, Abby, Gavin, Jacob, Elizabeth; great great-granddaughter, Shealynn; nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Rev. Tom Hagood and Rev. Bobby Carpenter will officiate. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make donations to the Kidney Fund.
